Extrinsic motivation can work to a certain extent, but it won’t help in the long term development of the workplace. Suppose, an employee is tired of the work pressure and wants to play some casino games for the day. He is also short of money as he has to pay the deposit money through the pay by phone method . There are two methods to resolve this matter effectively – the first method can be revising his salary or letting him go on a break. This will resolve the matter but the employee can face the same problem in the future. The second method can be to introduce gamification in the workplace which will help him to stay motivated throughout his tenure.
