Wherever you look, you can find almost nothing but positive buzz for Detective Pikachu . It’s easy to see why: There’s a certain level of quality that is erupting from marketing that just hasn’t been seen in a lot of video game movie adaptations. Warcraft’s marketing arguably gave off a generic vibe. Rampage looked fun, but not as well made cinema. The most highly rated video game movie might be 2018’s Tomb Raider , which offered a pretty decent adaption of the rebooted game.
